If you're coming in from out of town, there are rumors of a dinner being organized in Salem on Saturday the 1st. Stay tuned.
Transportation from Logan airport to Danvers is nontrivial. One option is to take a cab at ~$45, or you could rent a car and follow these directions. If you don't want to drive from the airport, but do want to rent a car there is a rental car place within walking distance of the hotel. We will probably arrange some sort of shuttle service to get people to and from the wedding.
For the very brave of heart, public transportation to the hotel is possible. Take the airport shuttle to the Airport Subway Station. Take the Blue Line Inbound to Gov't Center, take the Green Line to North Station. From North Station take the Rockport commuter rail line to either Lynn or Salem Depot. From there, you take a bus to the Liberty Tree Mall (right next to the hotel). The 435, 436 lines from Lynn and the 465, 468 lines from Salem work. If you are actually thinking of doing this you might want to check out the mbta website for schedules and whatnot. You could sub in a cab ride from salem or to north station to make it slightly more sane.
FAQ |
The event is "black tie optional", so sure, dress in your tuxedo if you want. There will be other people (besides the wedding party) wearing them. However, you're free to go less formal if you want — the main thing is to wear something that you'll enjoy wearing. People from out of town may wish to be aware that the weather can vary quite drastically, so the weather on Sept 2 may be chilly/rainy (40-50 degrees F), hot/humid/sunny (90 degrees F), or anything in between.
The food at the reception will be served in "stations" — a buffet that will include multiple options for vegetarians and vegans. There will also be meatier fare available. The food is not kosher, so if you need a special meal, let us know. The options at the stations should include something for most everyone, but if you have particularly stringent requirements not addressed here let us know.
